Pic of pipefish & glass shrimp
Same layout getting boring. Change pic over to the right. Ok, the pic shows the pipefish & 1 of the glass shrimp i caught from the beach outing on 26th Sun. I know what U folks are thinking :1) Isn't that a fresh water shrimp ???
Ans : No its a glass shrimp! Its a MARINE shrimp !!! Sick of repeating myself....
2) Hey, why is the sand black ???
Ans : This is not my main tank. Its my table top pico. Black sand gives tank a darker feel & covers algae growing on the sandbed. Look at the piece of plastic & how green it is....
Anyway, a bit more on pipefish. Slow moving creature thats consumes its prey by a sucking it. Ohh..... Love to see it do dat !!! Super fast & all thats left is the trail of puff exiting its gills at the side. It also has little fins that look a little like wings on its back that helps it to swim. The tip of the tail is actually fan shaped used to help it steer itself. Usually closed. This little fella is caught from the beach so not so colourful.... Kept 1 b4, same colour & also from beach. (could this be the same 1 ???) :)
As for the shrimp, nothing much. Good cleaner for my tank & the fries make good desert for my fish. Really hardworking but have short lifespan in my tank. Gobies eat them & i suspect my crab that has a developed a taste for these shrimps as well.
